Don´t miss the COUNSELOR Panel at Munich Comic Con!

In not even three weeks the Comicfestival in Munich kicks off! This is the biggest comic con on German ground this year! Of course, I will be there at the booth of TheNextArt (the publisher of my ENGEL books) from Thursday to Sunday! So drop by!

But this time, I have something special for you!

I will be holding a panel for the first time, and it will be about the upcoming release of the three-issue miniseries THE COUNSELOR, presented by Arch Enemy Entertainment!

So be there on Friday, May 31st at 11:00 am at the Bier- und Oktoberfestmuseum! Here is the link to the official announcement of the panel on the Munich Comic Con website.

The writer Robert Heracles and me will share a lot of insights about the creative process of bringing THE COUNSELOR to life. You will learn about how I met William Wilson and Percy Carey from Arch Enemy Entertainment, how they became the publisher of the books, and how it went on from there. And you will learn everything about my trip to Tempe, Arizona and San Diego Comic Con to meet Todd McFarlane and Stan Lee, who chose my COUNSELOR character design as the winning submission of the Talenthouse contest “Create a Superhero Character” in 2011.

And of course I will have a lot of (so far) unpublished artwork and material from the first issue of THE COUNSELOR for you.

Lars von Törne, editor at the German daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel, will host the panel.

See you there!!

Article about me in German newspaper “Märkische Allgemeine”

Another article about me and my work (in German) was just published in the weekend issue of the German newspaper “Märkische Allgemeine”. Read the print version below (click to enlarge) or go to the online version here.

Many thanks to Kerstin Voy for writing the story!

All ENGEL books available as digital comics now!

Today the third of (so far) three ENGEL books was published on the Mad Dog Comics App!

Now all three books are available as digital comics. The first one even is for free!! You can get book 1 here, book 2 here and book 3 here.

Even if the books are all in German, you might like the artwork. From book 1 to book 3 you can follow my artistic development, as the first book was published in 2009 and the third one in 2012. The first book was my first ever printed and published comic book and my second publication overall (except from some comic strips during high school, published in yearbooks… which is ages ago).

Here is a page from book 1:

And here is a page from book 3:

I am planning to publish book 4 this fall in print. The whole mini series will consist of five books.

That was Berlin Comic Con in April 2013!

It is already a week ago, that I attended the first (small) Comic Con this year: the Berliner Comicmesse!

As always I had a lot of fun, did some sketches, sold some books and had a lot of nice chats with the fans. It was a great start into the convention season (if you can really call it a “season” in Germany, as we do not have that many comic conventions).

I was so busy during the day, that I completely forgot to take pictures. But luckily my friend “Tiberius N. Tarante” (who writes for the comic blogs Nerd 2.0 and MiComics) was able to help me out here. Thanks!!! So here are a few pics from the Con:

You can find even more pics from the Con on comicguide.net, which means here and here, including this one of me drawing at my booth:

See you all there again in November!

Happy Birthday, Superman!

75 years ago Action Comics No. 1 was published, which marked the birth of Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

Todd McFarlane spreads the word again about the release of The Counselor!

This is really really cool and such a big help!

Like he already did some months ago, Todd McFarlane again spreads the word about The Counselor on his Facebook pages (here and here). This time he makes his thousands of fans aware of the upcoming release of the books on USA Today. Right after I put the related article on my blog a few days ago.

The only thing I can say is THANK YOU!! And I did this with a special Spawn sketch on my Facebook page, which he also shared, which got me even more awareness :) So cool! Thank you!

And here is the “Thank-you”-Spawn-sketch:
